ao3 stats meme
Aug. 18th, 2023 11:10 amI'm gonna indulge in a bit of navel gazing this morning, on account of i got 3 hours of sleep and did sooooo much work at work this week and i don't want to do more of it. stole this from
genarti
Most hits: The Care and Feeding of Earth's Mightiest Heroes (44,299). My unfinished masterpiece. My brush with an actual juggernaut fandom. I started writing this while working at a deli, frequently pecking away at my phone, balanced precariously and surreptitiously on the register. It was a glorious time, and then I actually got a job at a comic shop and rapidly lost the ability to care about superheroes off the clock. I think it's my best best comedic writing though, so I'll never delete it.
Most kudos: Extra Whip (3,614). This is a good fic lol! The kudosers are correct. It's the one thing I've written where it felt like forces really aligned both in my brain and outside of it to create something good that was also going to appeal. The fact that I did it with outsider POV and a coffee-shop-au-that-isn't is nice for me, personally. It's also the closest I've come to writing a collaborative fic, as it started as a text convo with Betp and felt very much like something we both invented. I ran a lot of it by her as I wrote it, and she was/has been its biggest cheerleader.
Most comments: The Care and Feeding of Earth's Mightiest Heroes (444) again. Multichapter, updated weeklyish, and I responded to a lot of them so this makes sense! Also it's the one thing I get snotty messages about completing so. The cycle continues.
Most bookmarks: Extra Whip (598) is this whole thing just gonna be these 2 fics lmao. This is my one fic that I actively seek out folks' bookmark tags, and they're always very nice and funny so. Thank u!
Most words: Life Goes On (34k). My other data point for the hypothesis that I am only able to write longform when I am very sad and very isolated (wrote this while doing Americorps in rural West Virginia). Originally posted it on ff.net, updating as i went, so the rest of its stats are off. I haven't reread this in a long time, but I remember being very proud of it while I was writing and vaguely embarrassed about how I ended it. But I DID end it, and that's the triumph.
Fewest words: The Universe in Miniature (1,135). Also my most recent fic! Sometimes a single episode of a British murder show grabs you and won't let go until you imagine an epilogue for its protagonists. I am always gratified when somebody finds this fic. I think it's sweet and good and I still love Joan and Bobby very, very much.
